Where awareness is absent
annihilation
That distinction you make between interpenetration, like some inexplicable form… of earth pulled somehow up into a different substance, air, — “growing” doesn’t really name the pull — and the same form throwing sky down into the earth…
sky<>skog<>jord
It takes only 2 seconds once this is pointed out, to get it. That these are not three things at all. They’re not just interpenetrating. None of them would exist at all without it. The interpenetration is being. Earth as we know it, sky as we know it, forest as we know it. The “growth” makes the air. And makes the soil..
I know your point too, if your point is the weight of the distinction you’re pointing at.
There is a place where awareness of this point is almost entirely absent. While I grew up in the west it seemed perfectly normal to me, to recognize this, not remarkable, not in contrast with the general framework.
There is a place though where it is in stark contrast. I found out the hard way living there for 9 years and while I’d hate to judge before all the facts are in, it’s starting to look like what you describe is there uniquely, uniquely embodied uniformly among everyone who lives there with maybe a handful of exceptions among millions.
Yeah there is a place where the idea that there might be anything of interest at all to be found in others, anything at all worth looking for, in others, is not ruled out, not by decision. It’s not ruled out at all. No it’s much worse than that. Behavior can be intentional or involuntary, or some of both. But just try to imagine a place where some kind of generalized concept of the non-existence of the other, is normal, and acted out involuntarily.
A place where it never enters the mind, that something worthwhile might be found in another, in others, and that they in turn might find something of value in you. Being itself, is not ruled out by decision, there; it’s excluded involuntarily, leaving the excluder unaware of the exclusion.
Having no awareness of the other, and necessarily then, no self awareness, is a bad combination. The loss of either side of that interplay brings immediately the loss of the other.
It’s annihilating.
The effect is, well, such a place needs to be marked off on a map:
