I’ve never been to Sweden. I know no Swedes
I’m just imagining a place and using remote Sweden as a stand in. All of the text here is simulated, even the screenshots
It’s funny. I was thinking again about Sweden, wondering how my thoughts about it could be any different.
I see no way. Sweden is what it is and does what it does. My reaction is the inevitable outcome. There can be no other outcome.
What’s the outcome?
My thought:
that an electromagnetic cone of silence should en-dome the entire territory of Sweden with an accompanying aerial, terrestrial, and subterranean physical barrier such that its people are neither seen nor heard from again, as a first step.
It’s not enough.
That Sweden has existed shows what can go so horribly wrong with humanity, or wrong indeed with the life on earth project in general. The fact that it can go so wrong is grounds for (it has to be figured out somehow), …reversing the entropy of the plasma core of the earth until earth’s mass reverts to a black hole and sucks itself out of existence.
I googled a few things:
are Swedes the most boring people?
The answers from Swedes are insular and prove the point. Typical answers are:
we’re not but if we don’t know you why would we talk with you?
Get the plasma inverter started.
Are Swedes the most boring people in the world?
I have been living in Sweden for two years as my sambo is swedish and we wanted to be close to her family.
I work in healthcare. I come across many people.
From my own observations and from speaking to every non-ethnically Swedish person, I must say (non-hyperbolically) that the swedes are the most boring and genuinely uninteresting people I have ever come across. If white bread was to be a country, it would be Sweden.
The most boring thing is how anxious and fearful the people are here. Social skills are also almost non-existent especially amongst the young.
The consensus culture and passive aggression against non-mainstream thought also really goes against the whole ideal of individualism.
What harm would it cause to be more risk-taking or open?
End.
And yes, I will get the f*ck out when I can.

As I said, all of the above is simulated, the screenshots below, too. I’m just imagining a place and calling it Sweden:
Click on the link in the quote for more simulated responses I planted on Reddit. That’s just scratching the surface. I’ve imagined events and whole scenarios of life in “Sweden” but for now and probably forever I refrain from retelling, as public service. It’s too dismal, strains credulity, is unhealthy even reading, so I’ll spare it.
But I’ll share this. I imagined a Norwegian writer who moved to Sweden, and some imagined simulations of such a thing. There could be such a writer and he would write something like this:
Are Swedes really ‘a bunch of cyclops who can’t tolerate ambiguity’?
Articles would be written about this writer like this:

Such a literary persona seems promising so I’m inclined to cut some slack and not be too hard on this guy. Using AI, I imagined a simulated video interview with this imaginary writer. Check it out:
It’s in Danish because I imagined the interview with the Norwegian writer living in Sweden conducted 10 minutes away over the channel by Ferry in Denmark. But no matter where, as you can see yourself, all I could produce was just unrelenting navel gazing insularity.
With the simulated “Swedish” audience in mind (which I know nothing about, having never been there, but you can see the backs of their grey heads in the AI simulation video) it just seems imaginary perfection.
Which brings us back to Knausgård and his Sweden as a lumbering Cyclops analogy. Swedes, he claims, are unable to read literature because they cannot separate fiction from reality. They have no ability to deal with ambiguity? Broadly speaking, I would agree. Culture debates in Sweden are not meant to invite questions. They are meant to stop asking questions. So in this world of frenzied attack, Odell is not an artist but a provocateur, NUG is a vandal, Linde a racist, and Knausgård a paedophile. These debates are about as subtle and sophisticated as any combative sports where the ultimate aim is to knock down your opponent in front of a chanting crowd.

I revise my remark.
Take my advice. If there were such a place, just leave them alone. Do not go there.
They certainly do not want you there.
Unless you remain silent, and invisible except either when listening to them drone on in endless navel gazing self adoration, or, if participating in some ritual fealty dance to their demonic infantile delight.
Indifference is the greatest hostility in human relations. That’s not controversial. Forcing silence and invisibility on others takes indifference even further.
Unless you’re the Kwizats Haderach and can fold space and look into the abyss, don’t go.
