When everything’s corrupt, corruption can’t be the measure of things
In my facebook world some people are wary of Canadian Truckers.
You know what makes me skeptical about the trucker convoy? The theatrics of it. I have no doubt that 99% of the people involved in that movement are amazing, sincere people. But the way the whole thing is playing out in such a theatrical way makes it seem very contrived, and I wonder who's pulling what strings in this puppet show.
The people's energy is so good that I cringe to think of how they might be being used for an unholy purpose, like actors in a play they didn't realize they were acting in.
Everything in this world is corrupted, infiltrated, used politically, funded by moneyed interests.
If you intend to participate in the world at all, then corruption is not the measure of all things. Measure instead by other things, including degree of corruption.
For me, I go with:
What are they saying? What do their words mean? What do they say they want, and do their words actually mean what they say they mean? Or are they distorted words, engineered language?
What do they say they want? Do they mean it? Are they talking about things that matter? And do I want those things too? Does it matter to me?
We have to go back to words that matter. We have to have words with meaning, and, that CAN HAVE meaning. Return to a world where the content of what people say matters.
Not who’s saying it, but what’s said. If you agree with what’s said, then say so. Support it.
If you don’t agree, then say so. Don’t support it. Say you don’t support it.
If you agree with what’s said now, but next month they start saying things you don’t agree with, then say so then.
It’s what they say, not who’s saying it. But that’s not an absolute either. If people who work for living, are organizing so they can speak in a more powerful voice things that matter to people who work for a living, then who’s saying it does matter. This is true if you work for a living. It’s also true if your money works for your living.
Words matter. To people who matter.
This is why I quit my political team 10 years ago. US Democrats reversed/inverted their positions on every issue. Words they used to say, they now say with engineered language that papers over a horror show. Odious psychotic fascism is covered over with a doublespeak veneer, empty rhetoric, words made meaningless, or, words with meaning inverted.
The rhetoric itself, is a case study of circus horrors. Mind-cracking psychotic narcissism in plain sight, reality distorted as in carnival mirrors, mocking madness, wicked sociopathy masked with clown makeup.
Many don’t see it. People watch or “read” American media, and don’t see it. Which, is shocking.
Among people who leave the country for some years and come back, it’s more common to see it. You arrive and you’re immediately assaulted by it, through airport TVs.

They influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realizing it. They live.
The movie’s an understatement.
YOU are demonized. They point at YOU and mock you, demonize you, threaten you.
These (psychopaths) point at you:
(Bush) “You’re either with us or against us.”
(Trudeau) You’re either a real Canadian or you’re “a fringe minority with unacceptable views, and how much longer can we tolerate these people?”
(Clinton) “a basket of deplorables: racists, misogynists…”
You think it’s not YOU though. You’re drowning in hate-drenched thinking, hate-thought, smeared over by clown world rhetoric, you live in a horror show. But you think YOU are not the target.
Right.
Yeah.
What you see/hear just takes your breath away. TV personalities: maniacs, screaming, hissing, frothing at the mouth. Well, that’s the content of their speech. But they’re well dressed. They have a nice haircut. Their words are absolute madness. But they have a nice haircut, so people absorb it. They find it completely normal. They think it’s rational. And, it’s not about me. Ho hum. It’s THEM!!! Ah, they scream with HATE “It’s THEM!!!”
So it is with my political tribe, the team I followed most of my life. They’re raving lunatics now, absolutely fucking fascist in every way. In my lifetime they reversed their positions on every issue, covered over it by turning the meaning of words inside out, meaning skinned alive.
And they point at it, the living idea bleeding inside out. They point, and laugh.
And this is normal.
For this, I learned, something. I don’t care who’s saying it. I don’t care their team. I don’t care who’s paying them, who’s corrupting them. I don’t care their cult of personality, their personas, their team flag, their party.
I care about what they’re saying. Is it engineered language or are they using real words with real meaning? Do they mean what they say? And does the meaning matter to me?
If yes, then I agree. I support it. If not, I don’t.
And I don’t give a SHIT, about anything else.
